Over 1,000 industry leaders have gathered under one roof! The Boao International Forum on New Power Systems is about to kick off.
According to China Electric Power News, in order to thoroughly implement the new energy security strategy of “Four Revolutions, One Cooperation,” the “Boao New Power System International Forum,” hosted by the Boao New Power System Association, will be held in Boao, Hainan, from October 27 to October 29. This year’s forum will be themed “Building a New Power System to Support Carbon Peak and Carbon Neutrality,” and will adopt a format featuring keynote speeches, specialized presentations, exhibition hall tours, and the release of major achievements. More than 1,000 experts and scholars from the smart grid and related fields will gather to discuss cutting‑edge issues in the field of new power systems, jointly outlining a new blueprint for energy development and contributing to the realization of the “Dual Carbon” goals.
As the single largest sector in China’s carbon emissions, the power industry plays a crucial role in achieving the “dual carbon” goals through emission reduction. Building a new type of power system dominated by new energy sources is an important means of implementing national strategic plans and realizing the targets of peaking carbon emissions and achieving carbon neutrality. It is also a key strategic move to ensure energy supply security, as well as a vital lever for promoting innovation and development in green energy technologies and for enhancing the foundational capabilities of the energy industry and the modernization level of its industrial chains.
According to reports, the forum will focus on fundamental research and practical applications such as the operational mechanisms and developmental forms of new power systems, as well as the basic theories and methods for data‑driven analysis and control of new power systems. Sub‑forums will be organized across five major areas: modern grid planning and development, digital technology innovation and application, smart energy and smart society, coordinated development of “source–grid–load–storage,” and tropical smart grid technologies.
In addition, the event will feature tours and exhibitions, keynote speeches, and the unveiling of major achievements. China’s first power-specific master control chip—“Fuxi,” built on a domestically developed instruction set architecture and kernel—will be showcased, along with a comprehensive IoT platform that leverages cutting‑edge information technologies such as cloud computing and big data to enable agile, intelligent management across all domains of energy production, transmission, and consumption. Other significant innovations, including a demonstration project for flexible DC distribution network interconnection across multiple terminals and an integrated DC microgrid system for solar, storage, and charging, will also make their debut on site.
